Food & Beverages

Outside food or beverage is not allowed inside the park. Big Rivers has a wide selection food available throughout the park. In any event, guests may bring personal sized amounts of food into the park, to the extent that they are medically necessary (e.g., for baby formula for infants, gluten-free foods, or allergy-safe foods for allergies). Please make Guest Relations aware of your need to do this prior to entering the park and they will provide a medical sticker to notify gate attendants that the food has been approved. For the safety of our guests, no glass containers are allowed.

“With dietary restrictions, if your restrictions do not allow you to consume food from inside the park, you are able to bring in a meal in a soft-sided personal lunch box per person. No larger than 12 x 12 x 12. Coolers are not allowed into the park. The food items do have to be single serve. Please stop by guest relations to receive approval and a sticker prior to entering the park.”

As much as we would like to accommodate guests with food allergies, we are not the food manufacturers/suppliers (we get all food and beverage product from third parties), and as such, we regret to inform you that THE PARK CANNOT, AND DOES NOT, MAKE ANY REPRESENTATIONS OR GUARANTEES WHATSOEVER REGARDING THE ALLERGY-FREE CONTENTS OF ANY FOODS OR BEVERAGES. At a minimum, guests with allergy concerns should avoid any foods or beverages unless they are packaged, and you are 100% confident in the manufacturer/supplier which has provided the Park with such food or beverage. Foods that are in any way unpackaged, prepared, or handled by the Park (as opposed to packaged goods, provided to you in a sealed package), have a higher risk of contamination with other products containing allergens, so in the interests of your safety, we strongly urge you to avoid all such unpackaged products provided by the Park.

For the safety of all Guests, open flamed grills or barbecue grills of any kind are not permitted on park property, including parking lots.

Alcoholic Beverages

Guests must be at least 21 years of age to purchase, possess or consume alcoholic beverages at Big Rivers Waterpark. A valid state-issued identification or driver’s license is required for each person purchasing, possessing or consuming alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages must be fully consumed or discarded on the premise where served. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in line for any ride, are not to be brought on any attraction or taken in the water. No alcoholic beverages are allowed to be brought onto Big Rivers Waterpark property.

Dress Code

We ask that our guests dress appropriately for our family theme park environment. Proper swimwear is required for all water park attractions. This includes the following rules, which may also be supplemented on a case-by-case basis as determined by the Park, in its good faith discretion and without further notice:

  • Appropriate swimwear is required for water rides or water-play structures. Swimwear, which is too provocative or revealing, including without limitation, transparent or mesh-style material, thongs and speedos is prohibited.
  • For safety reasons and to prevent property damage of rides and attractions, the Park prohibits cut-off jeans, denim shorts, clothing/swimwear with metal rivets or spikes, metal fasteners or buckles, or belts while on slides. Shoes of any kind are not allowed on any water slide.
  • The Park prohibits any jewelry that may pose a hazard to the rider, other guests, the rides itself, or other property. Prohibited items may include bulky, protruding or dangling jewelry (e.g., large hoop earrings which could snag on something, long necklaces which can pose a strangulation hazard, bulky rings, and any piercings that could snag or catch on equipment).
  • We do not permit clothing that depicts violence.
  • No vulgar or offensive tattoos, statements or artwork on clothing. This includes curse words, depictions of sexual acts or nudity, depictions or messages of violence, and racially or religiously divisive/hateful material.
  • No gangland clothing, hand-signs, “colors,” or tattoos.
  • Loose shirts are not allowed to be worn on body slides; however rash guards are permitted.
  • Closed-toe shoes are highly recommended on the zip lines, ropes courses and the climbing wall.
  • Bare feet are required on Wild Isle; approved water socks are optional.
  • All Wild Isle guests are required to wear park provided life jackets.

First Aid/Health Services

First Aid station is located near the entrance to Gator Bayou on the left side of Big Red’s Smokehouse.

Lost Children

We encourage you to establish a meeting place in the event your group becomes separated. Children should be instructed in advance to approach the nearest Big Rivers Team Member for assistance. Notify Big Rivers staff immediately when a young child becomes separated.

Unaccompanied Children

Children under 15 years of age may NOT enter Big Rivers Waterpark without adult supervision. Children under 15 years old must always be accompanied by an adult (18+). Small children must always be within arm’s reach of an adult. We recommend all minors under the age of 18 be accompanied by an adult for safety reasons. The Park does not assume any responsibility or liability for unattended minors; children and the behavior of all minors are the sole responsibility of their parent or guardian, and parents/guardians may be held legally liable for all acts of the children under their care.
Minors in violation of Park rules may be ejected or detained, in the Park’s discretion, as evaluated in a case-by-case basis. While the Park may in good faith attempt to contact a minor’s parent/guardian to have them picked up, this is done out of concern and courtesy, but in no event will the Park be held responsible if a minor leaves the Park, or for anything occurring after a minor has left the Park grounds.

Line Jumping

Guests are not permitted to save places in line or exit the line and return for any reason. Line jumping and other inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and is grounds for removal from the park without a refund.

Lost and Found

Lost and Found items are taken to the Guest Relations office located at the front gate. Items will be retrieved from slide areas and from the bottom of pools at the end of the day when the park has closed. Items will be kept in Lost and Found for one (1) week. Big Rivers Waterpark is not responsible for any lost, stolen or broken items.

Balloons

For the safety of our guests and animals, please do not bring balloons into the park (goats will eat anything).

Ride Access

All waterslide attractions require climbing stairs. Wheelchair accessible ramps are located at Boca Chica Bay Wave Pool and Rio Grand Lazy River. For safety reasons, guests with certain disabilities may not be permitted on some rides. For information, please visit Guest Relations located near the main entrance, where representatives will be pleased to assist with questions.

Service Animals

Trained service animals are welcome at Big Rivers Waterpark. Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Service animals must be house broken and remain on a leash and under the control of their handler at all times. Owners are responsible for properly removing and disposing of their animal’s waste. Guests whose service animal demonstrates aggressive and/or annoying actions toward a Guest or Team Member will be directed to remove the animal from the park.
Animals cannot be safely contained or restrained on amusement rides; they would thereby pose a serious safety hazard. Therefore, service animals are prohibited from all rides. Animals are also prohibited from going into or on any water attractions because of hygiene and safety concerns.
It is prohibited to leave animals in a car while guests enjoy the Park. In such event, animal control (or other government authority) may be called and your car forcibly entered, in order to attend to the health or safety needs of an animal. You will have to pay all such costs involved in the rescue of any pet left in a car and may face animal cruelty charges from local authorities.

Valid Picture ID

Please bring a valid ID if you would like to purchase alcohol and make purchases with a credit card.

Smoking

Smoking, including the use of vapor/e-cigarettes is only allowed in designated smoking areas located on the park map HERE. All other areas of the park are smoke-free and smoking is strictly prohibited.

Life Jackets

Complimentary life jackets are located throughout the park on a first come first serve basis and are recommended for inexperienced swimmers. Park provided life jackets must be worn by all guests visiting Wild Isle. Puddle Jumper floating devices and other United States Coast Guard (USCG) approved life jackets are allowed. Inflatable pool toys, floaties, and water wings are not allowed.

Rain & Thunderstorms

Big Rivers Waterpark remains open during periods of rain. However, operations will be temporarily suspended if there are electrical storms or other severe weather conditions in the area. Attractions will re-open as soon as conditions permit. Rain Policy: During heavy rain or storms some and/or all rides and/or slides may be shut down temporarily for your safety. Rain checks will be available upon request to guests exiting the park if ALL attractions have been closed for at least 2 hours. Guest must provide a same-day ticket stub at Guest Relations in order to obtain a rain check. No rain checks are issued for season pass holders. Big Rivers makes every effort to reopen the rides as quickly and safely as possible after the adverse weather conditions cease.
Rain checks will not be provided if the park closes within 1 hour of our published closing time. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE GIVEN. Once attractions reopen following a temporary closure due to weather, rain checks will no longer be offered.

All guests must follow the rules and policies listed above and follow the instructions of the Big Rivers Waterpark Staff.

Big Rivers Waterpark reserves the right to eject and suspend WITHOUT A REFUND any persons from Big Rivers property for violation of facility rules or for any other action detrimental to the safe and orderly operation of the facility. Serious violations or trespassing may result in arrest.
